Pulpotomy

Pulpotomy is a procedure performed in a tooth with a deep carious lesion adjacent to the pulp. The coronal pulp is amputated, and the remaining vital radicular pulp tissue surface should be treated with a medicament such as formocresol or ferric sulfate or with electrocautery to preserve the radicular pulp's health. The coronal pulp chamber is filled with a suitable base, and the tooth is restored with a restoration that seals the tooth from micro leakage.

Crowns

Crowns are a common form of restoration for broken teeth. They are a tooth shaped covering that strengthen the teeth a lot more than a filling. Crowns are also used to hold a dental bridge in place.

Bridges

Bridges are fixed in place where a tooth has been lost and are often an alternative to a partial denture. A bridge is constructed by having a crown either side of the dental space and then joining them together with a false tooth. The bridge is then cemented in place.

Dentures

Dentures are removable replacement teeth made of plastic or porcelain. Dentures can be "partial" if they replace only a few missing teeth or "full" if they replace all the teeth.

Tooth Extraction

Extraction is the complete removal of a primary or a permanent tooth. An Extraction can be surgical or non-surgical. This depends on the difficulty of the extraction and whether or not the tooth is impacted or erupted, and whether it has straight or curved roots.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are custom, porcelain facings that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to whiten teeth, close spaces, straighten teeth, or repair chipped or worn teeth. The veneers are only about 1 mm thick (the thickness of a fingernail). That same thickness is "shaved" off the natural tooth surface so when the veneer is bonded to the tooth, the tooth doesn't feel or look "thicker."

Fillings

Fillings can be White, which is an alternative to silver (amalgam) fillings. White fillings are made of a strong composite resin that is matched to the surrounding tooth color. In the past, white fillings were placed only on front teeth, but recently a stronger more durable material has been developed that can withstand the chewing pressure of back teeth.

Laser Bleaching

Using a laser with a whitening gel, this is an in-office bleaching system.  The translucent bleaching gel is applied to the teeth and a laser light is used to activate the crystals to absorb the energy from the light and penetrate the teeth enamel to increase the lightening effect on the teeth. The length of time in the cosmetic dentist's chair depends on the degree of discoloration you have.

Periodontal Disease: Bacterial infections involving bone loss around the teeth.

Periodontal Maintenance: A series of simple measures performed by a dental professional that helps limit the effects and further development of periodontal disease. Some components of periodontal maintenance include soft tissue examination, plaque removal, and polishing of the teeth.

Periodontal Pockets: Toxins in plaque destroy the gum and connective tissues beneath the teeth, forming a pocket (space). As the disease progresses toward the bone, the pocket fills with plaque and infection. If not treated, the bone and connective tissue surrounding the tooth may become so severely damaged that the tooth will fall out or need to be extracted.
